What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Coordinator position at New England Center for Children Inc?
Potential Education Coordinator positions are available in the IIP, Residential, and ITT programs. The Education Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Program Specialist.
General Responsibilities:
- Coordinate development, implementation, and monitoring of student IEP’s
- Prepare and lead all meetings related to student educational needs
- Review and edit student progress reports
- Oversee alternate assessments (including MCAS)
- Oversee completion of Core Skills Assessment and other relevant educational assessments
- Participate in development of Student Educational Curriculum
- Classroom Schedule Development
- Classroom Maintenance
- Supervise Curriculum development
- Attend Educational Coordinator meetings and trainings
- Meet weekly with Program Specialist to review classroom progress
- Spend a significant amount of time in the classroom providing oversight and coaching
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the best interest of the students
- Supervise and train staff in role related responsibilities including case management
Qualifications:
- Completion of Master’s Degree program
- MA Initial Licensure in Severe Special Education
- ACE Certification preferred
- Prior supervisory experience or NECC shift management responsibilities with demonstrated proficiency in the application of the principles of ABA
- Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills, and proven leadership ability
