What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director for Academic Excellence position at New England College?
- Work with faculty on the planning, implementation, and assessment of co-curricular interdisciplinary programming (service learning, immersion trips, internships, guest speakers, study abroad, Project Pericles, Center for Civic Engagement, Community Wednesdays, etc.).
- Annually review, document, streamline, and optimize processes involved with co-curricular activities to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
- Support the development and maintenance of research and scholarship initiatives that include students.
- Identify, apply for, and secure grants to support co-curricular programming working closely with the Office of Advancement.
- Identify students interested in Academic Excellence activities, working closely with the Advising staff at least on a monthly basis.
- Consult with faculty and staff to identify, maintain, and support community partnerships.
- Assess Academic Excellence programs yearly and make improvements based on assessment findings.
- Master’s Degree Required
- 5-7 years’ experience in Higher Education
- Track record of writing and securing grants
- 3-5 years of project management experience
- Understanding of research and scholarship initiatives
- Office 365, including email, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Budget management
- Effective project planning and implementation
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
