What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residency Support Specialist position at New England College?
- Assists Graduate Operations Coordinator, academic leads and faculty to ensure consistent and high-quality residency programs.
- Provides operational and technical support to ensure the smooth delivery of academic sessions, providing initial assistance and escalating issues as needed.
- Assists with registration and check-in/check-out processes for students and faculty.
- Provides ongoing support to faculty and students during residency weekends, ensuring that any operational issues are resolved promptly and in accordance with the program’s goals.
- Collaborates with the residency academic lead (dean or core residency faculty) and the graduate operations coordinator to meet all logistical and operational needs.
- Provides on-site support during residency weekends, ensuring smooth operations, from event setup to student and faculty assistance.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for event participants, offering assistance before, during, and after events.
Technical Support for Online Course Content:
- Provides technical assistance for faculty and students using the Learning Management System (LMS) and other academic technologies for online course content.
- Assists with uploading, organizing, and maintaining online course materials, ensuring students can access all necessary content.
- Offers training and support for faculty and students on using academic technologies effectively, ensuring smooth transitions between in-person and online learning environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in high-pressure situations.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle, and experience with academic technology.
