Job Summary
The Coordinator for Counseling and Wellness provides administrative and programmatic support for NEC’s Counseling and Wellness Center. The Coordinator assists with the daily operational activities necessary to sustain the Center. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following : management of incoming phone calls and emails, data input and management of students’ electronic medical records, and creating a welcoming environment for students who visit the Counseling and Wellness Center or have questions. The Coordinator for Counseling and Wellness is a full-time, ten-month professional position that reports directly to the Director of Counseling and Wellness.
Essential Functions
Serve as NEC’s liaison (Coordinator) to the Tufts Collegiate Center for Wellness
Serve as the initial point of contact for students, families, staff, and other members of the NEC community at the NEC Counseling and Wellness Center
Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and walk-in requests for appropriate appointments or referrals to the Tufts Collegiate Center for Wellness
Assist with client and clinician scheduling and messaging, as assigned
Provide information about accessing counseling services to students, parents, and members of the NEC community
Maintain confidentiality and privacy policies and explain protocols to students, families, and staff
Review student health records for compliance with College and Commonwealth pre-matriculation immunization / health form requirements, document information received, notify student of requirements
Maintain student immunization records and create required reports for the Department of Public Health
Provide information and be a resource to support students with questions about health insurance
Coordinate health screenings with Tufts Collegiate Center for Wellness
Work collaboratively with the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, the Counseling Center team, and campus partners to create and facilitate Counseling and Wellness-themed programs and initiatives, as assigned
Monitor departmental budget, prepare invoices, monthly reports, and budget documents
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
Three to five years of experience in a higher education setting, an outpatient office setting, or a clinician's office
A student-centered approach to the work

Excellent administrative, written, and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, Google Suite
Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA-related compliance requirements
Ability to maintain confidentiality, especially when dealing with medical and mental health records
Ability to coordinate and schedule projects such as health screenings
Ability to create resources and flyers in Canva
Ability to create and coordinate social media content on platforms such as Instagram
