What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flagger position at New England Flagger Services?
- Job Description
Must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license. Vehicle must also be insured. Prospective candidates must be alert and able to receive and communicate specific instructions clearly, firmly and courteously; Candidates must be able to stand on their feet for up to eight hours. Candidates must have the ability to move and maneuver quickly to avoid danger from errant vehicles; candidates must be able to control signaling devices such as stop/slow paddles and light in order to provide clear and positive guidance to drivers approaching a temporary traffic control zone in frequently changing locations; candidates must have the ability to understand and apply safe traffic control practices, sometimes in stressful or emergency situations; candidates must be able to recognize dangerous traffic situations and warn workers in sufficient time to avoid injury. Candidate must complete and pass a 4 hour ATSSA flagger training course in accordance with their states requirements given by a certified ATSSA instructor; Candidate must adhere to all company policies, candidate must practice safety and professionalism at all times.
- Prerequisites
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- You must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to obtain a valid ATSSA flagger certification.
- You must have a registered and insured motor vehicle to travel to job sites.
- Must be tolerable of all inclement weather (heat, cold, wet, dry).
- Must have full range of motion in both arms, be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must have correctable vision and hearing.
- Flagger Duties
Duties to include directing and controlling traffic in order to provide a safe environment for the traveling public and the working crew.
Duties include but are not limited to:- Providing a safe travel environment for the public, crews, coworkers and self.
- Reporting to work sites punctually and fully equipped.
- Communicating by two way radios.
- Maintaining company issued personal protective equipment as well as communicating with General Foreman when new/additional/or replacement equipment is needed.
- Completing all required paperwork/timesheets thoroughly, accurately and timely.
- Demonstrate a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Projecting a clean, neat and professional appearance while flagging.
Salary : $28,300 - $35,800
