What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community & Events Internship position at New England Free Jacks?
Overview: The Free Jacks Community & Events internship is an introductory role for students looking to break into the sports industry and gain valuable experience. Interns will work directly with the Academy and Community Lead in all areas of our community & events program, including event planning, event management, community engagements, and gameday events. Interns are expected to be a part of the program for its entirety, which runs January through May. Interns will work 10-15 hours per week which can include office work, remote projects, outside events, and matchdays. Internships are intended to be completed to fulfill course credit requirements.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates will be looking to break into the sports industry and have an interest in exploring if community and events is an ideal path for them. They will bring a positive attitude, resourcefulness, and a focus on customer service. They will be hard working, willing to pitch in in a variety of areas, and a great team player.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Assist with the planning and development of community events and initiatives
● Help communicate with outside partners to ensure all areas of event are covered
● Be on site at community and academy events to assist with set up, registration, and event management
● On matchdays collaborate with other staff in putting on pre and post match events
● Other duties as assigned
