Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and collecting medical histories.
- Provide direct patient care, ensuring comfort and addressing any concerns.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with medical regulations using EPIC electronic medical record.
- Support medical administrative functions including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling insurance verification.
- Utilize knowledge of coding for billing purposes as required.
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as EKG when necessary.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the medical office or clinic environment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in the use of “EPIC“ electronic medical record but will support training needs.
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in urgent care or internal medicine is preferred.
- Strong skills in patient care and service-oriented communication.
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks including scheduling and record management.
- Basic understanding of coding practices for insurance purposes is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with multitasking while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent training is highly desirable.
- Phlebotomy skills desirable
