General Studies Teacher
New England Jewish Academy, a private school located in West Hartford, CT, is looking for a dynamic, motivated, growth-oriented 2nd grade general studies teacher.
Responsibilities include:
Implementing "best practice" strategies in the classroom while recognizing individual learning styles and needs;
Teaching and mentoring students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
Assessing students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop a teaching plan
Planning, organizing, and assigning learning activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
Regularly communicating students’ progress with parents, the principal, and the school social worker.
Developing and maintaining effective teacher and parent relationships.
Preparing students to transition from grade to grade.
Active participation in professional development opportunities and a willingness to grow as a teacher and a learner.
