Kurn Hattin Homes for Children is a residential school nestled on 280 acres in beautiful Westminster, Vermont. Our students in grades K-8 come from culturally and socially diverse backgrounds. We are looking for a compassionate individual who prioritizes relationships to work with our diverse learners and inspire them to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and effective communicators with a love of learning.
We are seeking a middle school math teacher to serve our school, beginning in the 2025/2026 school year. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator who develops a positive rapport with students, colleagues, and families. This position will require strong collaborative practices with the middle school team, as well as with our interdisciplinary arts educators. The ideal candidate will have excellent classroom management and best instructional practices, experience in Common Core aligned math education, and must be able to support a wide range of students at various levels. They will be able to differentiate math instruction, facilitate productive mathematics discussions, interpret and respond to data, and demonstrate flexibility and versatility. Experience with Project-Based Learning, familiarity with PBiS, Restorative Practices, Proficiency Based Learning, and Trauma Informed Practices is a strong plus.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree combined with three years of teaching experience is preferred. Also desired is a strong knowledge of current best practices and collaborative skills.
