Boston-area healthcare technology leader seeks 5 year patent attorney with major law firm training for broad-based HQ role as principal IP Counsel responsible for leading and managing all IP matters for a fast-growing core business division of this global company. This lawyer will have responsibility for managing and supporting a multi-faceted patent portfolio (from invention capture to patent filing), including: preparing and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications, managing outside counsel, serving as a key interface with business leaders for strategic IP matters, engineers and technical staff to identify, collect and review ideas of patentability. This lawyer will also manage brainstorming sessions, prepare new ideas for consideration by the IP review committee, and provide advice on IP issues related to product clearance and due diligence matters. Undergraduate degree in electrical, electronics and/or software engineering required (an advanced degree is strongly preferred). PTO and bar admission to one state bar required. Experience managing a trademark portfolio preferred. In-house experience a plus.
