New England Life Care currently has a Business Analyst opportunity in our New England branch locations. This position typically works Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. This position will allow you to work autonomously, have a predictable schedule, and be able to connect with your coworkers. Job Summary: Provides input on NELC projects, extracts data and compiles reports required for management and operations. Provides assistance, advice, and problem solving to staff regarding the use of EMR and Sage for ACS; researches and resolves user errors; participates in testing, training, and implementation of software updates and new features/modules; and acts as a liaison between software vendors and NELC.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide input to management related to NELC projects, including advice on current policies and procedures, healthcare practices and regulations, and data available in NELC systems.
- Write reports required for management, operations, and projects.
- Provide application support to users, research and resolve issues.
- Participate in evaluation and implementation of new features, modules, and systems.
- Participate in evaluation and implementation of process improvements.
- Participate as member of the Help Center team by working to research and resolve tickets.
- Conduct testing, training, and implementation of software updates.
Additional Responsibilities:

Follows NELC policies and procedures in the normal conduction of company business.
Assures that professional practice complies with state and federal regulations including but not limited to the HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations and NELC’s Corporate Compliance Program. - Ensures that confidentiality of patient information is maintained in accordance with state and HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations.
- Participates in company Performance Improvement Program via appropriate completion of Occurrence Reports and Customer Complaints and the offering of recommendations for improvements based on trends noted.
- Effectively communicates both verbally & in writing inside and outside the organization; selects appropriate means of communication; questions to seek clarification and understanding; maintains confidentiality; listens actively to others; conveys appropriate information to others.
- Takes the initiative to meet internal and external customer needs in a timely and courteous manner; maintains a high level of customer satisfaction; follows up on customer complaints/concerns.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, information technology or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 3 years’ experience as a business analyst with healthcare background preferred.
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
- Experience writing MSSQL queries and writing end user reports using SAP Crystal
- Reports or equivalent report writing application.
Regulatory Requirements:
- Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements.
- Working knowledge of federal / state fraud and abuse laws required.
- Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record required.
Additional Skills:
- Experience with report writing and research tools, including Crystal Reports, SQL Management Studio, MS Access.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology; CPT; ICD9; and HCPC coding preferred.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team required.
- Practical experience with business office applications to include Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Demonstrated ability to identify research and solve problems required.
