JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting directly to the CEO, as a hands-on leader, the Controller will oversee the accounting department, and the financial information systems and be directly responsible for the monthly financial closing process, including journal entry preparation and review, financial reporting and analysis, preparation of quarterly Board reports. The Controller will maintain integrity of the organization’s financials while working collaboratively with Senior Management, individual practices as well as the private equity firm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the Chief Accounting Officer for the Dental Service Organization and provide hands-on preparation and review of the Accounting and Budgeting process, including Disbursements, General Ledger, A/P, A/R.
Prepare weekly cash flow reports.
Prepare and review monthly accounting close process, ensuring accurate accounting records are maintained, and internal accounting controls are in place.
Plan, coordinate, and prepare for year-end audits by independent auditors.
Prepare and present monthly financial statements including variance analysis, assessments, and reporting of key financial metrics.
Standardize accounting policies, procedures, and controls across the organization.
Manage banking relationships by monitoring fees, account access, process wires, Intercompany bank transfers, etc.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MBA in Finance, preferred
10 years of accounting experience
5 years of controllership experience
Experience in a healthcare organization preferred
Experience with financial and audit reporting requirements
Proven experience facilitating organizational change, improvements, and development.
Ability to design and implement new strategies and processes
Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to partner and communicate well with the senior leadership team, stakeholders, vendors, board members and investment company
Experience with Sage/Intacct or Great Plains G/L accounting software
Experience with Jarvis analytics or Adaptive AI tools is a plus
