Position Summary:
The Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests in a dining and golf environment by taking orders, serving food and beverages, ensuring a positive dining experience, and handling transactions. This role involves a strong focus on guest satisfaction, teamwork, and maintaining a clean and efficient dining area.
Responsibilities :
Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly, make them feel welcome, and guide them to their table.
- Present menus to guests, explain daily specials, and offer recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special dietary requirements or requests are noted.
- Communicate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and delivered on time.
- Serve food and drinks promptly, ensuring proper presentation and correct order accuracy.
- Check on guests throughout their meal to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or special requests.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally, aiming for prompt resolution and guest satisfaction.
- Upsell menu items such as appetizers, desserts, and drinks to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
Dining Room Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, ensuring tables are set up properly with clean tableware, napkins, and condiments.
- Clear and clean tables promptly after guests leave, reset tables, and prepare them for new guests.
- Monitor dining room traffic to ensure that all guests are attended to in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the restaurant’s cleanliness standards are upheld in all dining areas, including floors, tables, and restrooms.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operation of service.
- Assist other servers or kitchen staff as needed, including running food, refilling drinks, or helping with side tasks.
- Communicate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth flow of service, particularly during peak times.
Cash Handling & Transactions:
- Process customer payments accurately, including cash, credit cards, or split checks.
- Provide guests with their check, process the payment, and return change or receipts in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper handling of tips and gratuities, in accordance with company policies.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Follow food safety regulations and ensure the proper handling of food and beverages.
- Ensure all plates, glasses, and utensils are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Adhere to all health and sanitation guidelines, including hand washing, food handling, and alcohol service policies.
- Maintain proper food storage and handling procedures.
Shift Preparation & Clean Up:
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and assist in setting up the restaurant before service begins (e.g., stocking service stations, ensuring the dining area is ready).
- Assist in closing the restaurant by cleaning and organizing the dining area, restocking, and preparing for the next day’s service.
- Ensure that all side work (e.g., folding napkins, cleaning restrooms, organizing supplies) is completed during the shift.
- Previous experience in a server, food service, or hospitality role is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus, with the ability to describe items and make recommendations to guests.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems or cash registers is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on guest satisfaction and problem resolution.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic food safety, health, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work as part of a team and assist colleagues when needed.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the venue, including kitchens, dining areas, and storage facilities.
- Ability to lift and carry items including trays of food and drink weighing 20-30 pounds regularly. Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including food products, supplies, and equipment.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to access storage areas and inventory.
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools, as well as handling food items safely and efficiently.
Work Location - This job requires 100% on-site attendance
