What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at New England Spring?
New England Spring is a growing business in Bristol, CT. We are fast-paced and customer focused. We have been supplying fourslide, coiling, secondary and stamping parts to the aerospace, medical, automotive, HVAC, lighting and mining and industrial industries since 1946. Our facility is registered to ISO 9001-2015 and AS9100 D. These standards, for general manufacturing and aerospace respectively, demonstrate our commitment to quality and improvement over time.

Quality Control Inspector
Summary: Responsible for performing the Aerospace/Commercial inspection functions in accordance with the ISO 9001/AS 9100 Quality Management System.
Duties:
- Maintain and hold a Pratt & Whitney DQR stamp (AESQ self-release delegate)
- GD&T blueprint reading and understanding
- Perform 1st pc, in-process and final inspection (including visual inspection and load testing)
- Complete AS9102 FAIR Forms
- Operate the following inspection equipment: Load tester, calipers, micrometers, comparator, gage blocks, height gage, Rockwell tester, scale, Keyence visual system, torque tester and surface plate
- Strong computer skills (especially in word and excel)
- Background in spring, fourslide, powerpress and secondary parts
- Inspect raw material certs for compliance to required AMS specification.
- Inspect parts and certifications from subcontractors (platers, heattreaters, FPI houses etc. for compliance to AMS, PWA and MIL-STD specifications (as applicable).
- Knowledge of P&W specifications and source revision list (SRL)
- Work in ERP system (Global Shop background would be a plus)
- Create bag and tag labels per PWA 310, class 16 and minimal physical part marking
- Prepare Certificates of Compliance and other shipping documents, as necessary.
- Verify parts from inventory comply with current spec revs prior to shipping parts.
- Maintain and hold a P&W MCL certification (material control at lab source representative) this is not a requirement but would be a plus.
- Obey all safety regulations and comply with ISO 9001/AS 9100.
