Job Description
The Director of Education oversees instruction, teaching, and curriculum development. Reporting directly to the Campus Director, this role collaborates closely with the VP of Operations and VP of Academic Affairs to set the educational agenda, improve institutional assessments, and develop related work plans. You will guide instructors, work with other department directors, and support the CDL and HVAC-R training programs through effective administrative and auxiliary services, fostering an environment of educational and professional excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Staffing
- Recruiting and onboarding of new instructors
- Conduct training for instructors. Conduct informal and formal classroom observations in accordance to NETTTS policies.
- Monitor and review instructor development activities
- Review instructor files (credentials, certifications, training to teach, professional development activities, etc.)
- Administration and oversight of instructor feedback surveys
- Prepare and deliver Performance Reviews for instructors.
- Collaborate with campus leadership, take initiative and action to respond, resolve, and follow-up regarding instructor and student issues in a timely manner
- Prepare and maintain the instructional budget and staffing plan in connection with overall institutional plan
Student Success
Review of educational records to ensure compliance in accordance with institutional policies, state, federal, accrediting, and programmatic requirementsMonitor instructional activities as related to retention initiatives (i.e. absent student contact)Review and deliver new student orientationAnalyze current trends, student achievement outcomes, and identify and monitor to assess and improve our educational programs.Lead student re-entries & re-enrollsManagement of the Retention improvement plansExecution of Student Satisfaction Surveys results and action plansCurriculum
Oversee adaption of curriculum development standard to universal (standardized) curriculumMonitor student satisfaction, retention, graduation, and graduate employment outcomesProvide input and implement the standardized instructional schedule to ensure compliance with state, institution, federal, and programmatic agencies, as well to ensure classroom and instructor efficienciesAssist in new program development and implementationAssess current technology trends and the impact on the delivery of educational materialsAssist in curriculum implementation and development including validation of competencies and student achievement outcomes (graduation rate, graduate employment in field of study)Leadership

Qualifications for the Job :
Bachelor’s Degree is requiredMinimum five years management experience in a postsecondary educational environment.Minimum five years teaching or training industry experience.Key Competencies :
Excellent Interpersonal, Communication, Team Building and Employee Development skills.Strong technical proficiency, including expertise in email management and Microsoft Office suite.Must be able to adapt to short deadlines.Demonstrate professional behavior and sound judgement during high pressure situations, when necessary.Flexibility in work schedule due to the importance of this position and our class schedules.Ability to motivate staff and students and to serve as an advocate for the school and the assigned campus.Punctuality with attendance and meeting deadlines.Travel : Occasional travel to a workshop, training, or other NETTTS campus. No overnight travel is anticipated.
Physical Requirements : Mobility to move around the campus and garage. Ability to walk, lift and move objects over up to 40 lbs., bend, stretch, reach, perform sedentary work, and stand for extended periods.
