Join our team as a Director of Safety and Training for our CDL Training Program! You'll oversee CDL instructional staff, ensure quality training, and maintain our fleet and equipment. Your role is crucial for student success and safety.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and participate in CDL instruction.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate instructors.
- Develop and update curriculum.
- Conduct student orientations and provide support.
- Track student progress and prepare them for CDL testing.
- Schedule and coordinate tests with state agencies.
- Teach classroom, yard maneuvers, and on-road sessions as needed.
- Manage payroll, budgets, and equipment purchases.
- Ensure vehicle maintenance and safety compliance.
- Handle OSHA and DOT regulations and reporting.
- Ensure proper snow removal and salting of the training yard.
- Maintain campus security, safety, and cleanliness.

Distinguishing Characteristics :
Supervisory Responsibilities : Responsible for the oversight of all campus CDL instructional personnel and students in attendance of the related program.
TRAVEL : There is very occasional daytime travel away from the campus to attend conferences, meetings, corporate activities. Very little overnight travel is anticipated.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Mobility to move around the campus and get in and out of CDL trucks. Ability to walk and to lift and move objects, to bend, stretch, and reach, and to stand for extended periods. Ability to communicate clearly. Successful passing of continuous DOT physical examinations. Ability to effectively manage a variety of activities, sometimes under stressful conditions.
