POSITION GOAL : To lead the Materials Department to World Class. This position is reponsible for coordinating all activities associated with the Materials department. Reponsibilities include receiving, shipping, shop floor, planning, and all Point of Use locations. The Production coordinators will improve the department and temselves through training and continual learning.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

1. Coordinate materials functions in a cell concept setting within a team environment including materials, manufacturing engineering, production and QA
2. Responsible for driving continuous improvement,in the supply base in support of business objectives.
3. Responsible for discrete job accuracy; maintaining accuracy of 500 series requirements and accuracy of reject requirements.
4. Responsible for ensuring accurate implemntation of Engineering Change Orders to released jobs.
5. Assist in the development, communication and deployment of departmental policies, guidelines and tools to ensure success in all processes.
6. Assist in maintaining the Material department budget with indirect labour, overtime, materials supplies, communication devices, and travel.
7. Drive the reduction of inventory adjustments.
8. Monitor measure and meet all material measurements.
9. Monitor and coordinate material from bowling alley to POU locations by requirement date.
10. Ensure material coordination in the following key areas : responsible for communication to other plants with all shipping requirements and errors, monitor and reduce obsolete to zero, ensure gareways and bowling alleys are empty at the end of each shift, monitor and reduce past due demands to Zero, reduce negatives to zero, review, use and distribute daily dispatch list.
11. Assist the shipping team on picking open IR's to ship within 24 hours.
12. Ensure all staging areas are empty at the end of the shift.
13. Monitor and reduce negatives to zero, monitor line entry schedule and part status prior to and during the build process
14. Ensure you monitor material in STAGING REC 99 (material with no default locator) within 24 hours.
15. Ensure the MRP, and MRB process is being followed by your team.
16. Monitor and maintain the accuracy of Live bus records.
17. Perform Cell audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
18. There is a responsibility for solving problems with respect to the following : Uncontrollable items, cross training, maintaining Sub- Inventories, maintain inter - organizational communication while following proper e-mail etiquette.
19. Ensure compliance to ISO procedures, work instructions, 5P's and promote continuous improvement within the department.
