Under the supervision of the Executive Chef/Sous Chef, this hybrid role ensures the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, manages dishwashing operations, and oversees presentation of food, including pantry, bakery, and salad bar items. This role requires maintaining high standards of cleanliness, quality, and efficiency while complying with health and safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean kitchen, properly wash and sort soiled dishes.
- Keep the dish area organized and clutter-free.
- Properly wash, stack, and store dishes, glassware, silverware, cookware, and containers.
- Change water in machines and sinks regularly, following new freedom standards.
- Handle chemicals safely according to safety data sheets.
- Maintain clean floors and trash management throughout shifts.
- Set up and break down food stations during designated mealtimes.
- Prepare and label food items for daily use and special events.
- Ensure food rotation, proper labeling, and storage compliance.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and dining areas.
- Understand and comply with county/state/federal health codes.
- Collaborate professionally with leadership, employees, and members.
- Follow all posted cleaning and organizational duties.
- Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries.
- In addition, all other duties as assigned.
