New Freedom’s Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for effectively overseeing and optimizing the financial processes associated with revenue generation, billing, and collections. The Revenue Cycle Manager’s primary goal is to work through the billing team and department to ensure payment for services rendered, maximizing revenue while minimizing errors and delays in the process, and ensuring that any/all contractual requirements and regulations are adhered to.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Directs overall billing, claims, and collections activities in accordance with current applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations
  • Creates and reviews monthly reports, analyzes outcomes, identifies trends, and ensures timely and proactive communication with leaders and executive management
  • Effectively coordinates and collaborates with key departments to improve outcomes while minimizing manual workflows
  • Develops and maintains policies pertaining to insurance, member billing and claims, cash posting, and collection practices
  • Ensures effective systems and controls are in place as outlined in policy and procedure manuals
  • Effectively manages all claim submissions to Medicare, Medi-Cal, and/or other third-party insurances through clearing house payment services
  • Directs processing of accounts receivables, adjustments/refunds, cash deposits, and postings in a timely, accurate, and effective manner
  • Oversees all month-end processes, including completion of data entry, review and correction of edits, and reconciliation of claims transactions
  • Effectively develops, implements, and leads billing office objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, customer service focused, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in billing, coding, claims, and reimbursement
  • Demonstrates effective knowledge of and experience with HIPAA, federal regulations, behavioral health policies, and reimbursement criteria
  • Effectively maintains adequate staffing levels to effectively bill and collect receivables, monitor employee productivity, and quality of work
  • Effectively manages staff-related performance issues through ongoing monitoring, assessment, training, formal disciplinary action, coaching, and partnering with senior leadership and Human Resources, as needed
  • Effectively interviews, hires, and completes onboarding of new staff, training and orienting billing staff to the company and department operations and objectives
  • Maintains credentials for all providers with insurance companies and/or funding sources, as needed
  • In addition, all other duties as assigned
