Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Purchasing and Event Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate for this position will be to provide assistance and support to the Purchasing Associates (PAs), Events Coordinator (EC), and Director while learning and gaining experience in the department overall. This position requires strong organizational skills, as well as excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities
Purchasing
- Seek out and research new brands, new innovations, and customer requests to recommend adding to company portfolio.
- Set-up of new vendors as directed, as well as assisting with verification and approval of UPS account usage and AMEX charges by vendors.
- Sku building, new item onboarding, and follow-up for photos, copy, etc
- Communicate intra-departmentally on new items, discontinued items, items with availability restrictions, or production issues.
- Review backordered items and assist in working towards in-stock rate goals.
- Support PAs with monthly catalog item activation/deactivation, as well as proofreading and providing support and recommendations to choose items for catalog outline.
- Check daily sales results to keep ahead of any stock issues and ensure stock availability for email specials and monthly catalog promotions.
- Check daily emails from Marketing Specialist to identify any anomalies.
- Support and assist PAs in working through product returns to vendors.
- Assist in electronically entering invoices and verifying data, resolving discrepancies, tracking credits from vendors, invoice approvals, and communicating with other departments as needed.
- Competitive pricing comparisons with reporting to PAs/Director and maintaining pricing and margin audits and changes – website, catalog, etc.
- Assist in preparing data, reports, and status of the business for meetings and discussions.
Events
- Support and assist the Events Coordinator and Director in planning and execution of in-person consumer-targeted events.
- Gather post-event data (units sold, revenue, etc) and report to EC/Director
- Attend on-location events as directed by EC/Director to provide staff support
- Other activities and administrative duties as requested and delegated by the EC and Director.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
