Position Summary:
The Business Development Leader is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and building strong customer relationships across North America. This role requires a strategic, entrepreneurial approach to identifying and capturing new business opportunities, particularly in B2B industrial sales within the manufacturing sector. Experience selling to OEMs is preferred.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-moving environment, works collaboratively across teams, and builds trust-based relationships with customers and stakeholders. The ability to listen, adapt, and think critically is key to success.

This position is onsite preferred in Claremont, NH, but a remote option is available for the right candidate based on experience and ability to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Growth & Market Expansion
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to guide sales initiatives.
  • Expand the company’s presence by targeting new customers, industries, and product applications.
  • Convert RFQ packages into commercially viable proposals, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of potential customers and opportunities to support sustainable revenue growth.

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring customers' needs and challenges are well understood.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Conduct on-site visits and virtual engagements to fully understand customer operations, challenges, and objectives.
  • Provide insight-driven solutions that align with both customer goals and market trends.
  • Proactively generate proposals and lead contract negotiations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Agile Adaptability

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, R&D, and Operations to align strategies and drive customer success.
  • Provide market insights and competitive analysis to support product development and strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in short, iterative planning cycles to continuously refine business development strategies.
  • Maintain a problem-solving mindset, quickly adjusting approaches based on feedback and data.

Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success in revenue growth, customer engagement, and market expansion.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize sales strategies and improve win rates.
  • Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Maintain an ongoing learning approach, refining tactics to stay ahead of the competition.

Work Environment & Travel Requirements

  • This position operates in a professional office environment, with occasional exposure to manufacturing areas requiring PPE (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection).
  • Travel requirement: 25-50%, including customer visits, industry events, and company locations.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on business demands.
  • Onsite preferred in Claremont, NH, but remote work is an option for the right candidate based on experience and ability to meet performance expectations.

Pay: $73,000.00 - $123,000.00 per year
