What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Technician I position at New Hanover County Schools?
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Three to five years of experience in grounds maintenance activities, painting and the maintenance of equipment and machinery required.
3. Valid pesticide applicator’s license or obtainment of license within six months of employment required.
4. Minimum of one to three years of furniture moving experience preferred.
5. Valid North Carolina driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license or obtainment of commercial license within six months of employment preferred.
REPORTS TO: Paint/Grounds Foreman
JOB GOAL: To perform duties related to the performance of pest control services in accordance with the district Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program, the preparation and painting of surfaces, and a variety of other maintenance and grounds duties in support of the Paint/Grounds Shop and Maintenance Operations Department.
Terms of Employment: Twelve-month work year/At Will/FLSANon-Exempt
Starting Salary and/or Grade: Grade 64
