What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at New Hanover County?
New Hanover County is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the clinical team at the Health and Human Services department. The LPN will provide nursing services, under the direction of a registered nurse, primarily in the public health immunization clinic. The LPN will provide vaccinations to adults and children seeking recommended vaccinations and international travel vaccines. Assigned duties include vaccine inventory and ordering, scheduling travel vaccine appointments and stocking the vaccine clinic. The LPN will assist with vaccine outreach events, supporting staff in other nursing duties as directed, and documenting and maintaining patient records in the electronic health record and NCIR. Assumes disaster shelter role in emergencies.

The hiring range for this position is $42,050 -$56,768 plus a competitive benefits package. Salary is negotiable within the hiring range, depending on qualifications.

Completion of an approved LPN program and 1 year of related clinical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid North Carolina Driver License required by first date of employment with good driving record.
- Eligible to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) by the American Heart Association.
