Department: NHRMC Cafeteria

Full Time Equivalent: full-time

Work Type: 64 to 80 Hours Pay Period

Work Schedule: 8HR ROTATE - Rotating shifts

Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: No

What You'll Do

Summary:

Works under the supervision of the Food Service Coordinators, Food and Nutrition Management. Responsible for providing exemplary meal services to patients, employees and visitors. Covers patient trays, loads trays in carts and delivers carts to assigned locations. Actively cleans patient trays, cafeteria trays, china, pots and pans, and department spaces. Maintains department sanitation standards. Participates in department performance improvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.


Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates a daily commitment to meeting or exceeding the established Standards of Performance. 2. Caps patient meal trays and loads trays in carts. Delivers carts to assigned locations, meeting department time parameters. 3. Retrieves patient tray carts after meal service. 4. Cleans equipment and workspaces according to sanitation guidelines. 5. Washes dishes, china, silverware, pots and pans according to department procedures. 6. Empties and removes department trash according to department procedures. 7. Follows department sanitation guidelines. 8. Maintains exemplary customer service in department and initiates efforts to resolve concerns. 9. Practices appropriate written and verbal communication as necessary to support patient care duties and general operations. 10. Supports program operations by demonstrating flexibility and adaptability with work assignments. Follows assigned work schedule and job outlines. 11. Applies sound judgment in problem solving and prioritizing of duties. 12. Manages job duties effectively and efficiently. Performs all required activities with minimal oversight needed. 13. Advocates for department, medical center and the community. 14. Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of the medical center on a daily basis. 15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Serv Safe certification preferred. 
  • Licensure / Certifications: None. 
  • Experience: Six month’s experience in restaurant, hotel or customer service setting.
