Job Title: Director ofChildren and Youth Ministries
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Position Status: Part Time (25 hours) – Hourly
Position Summary: Will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Children and Youth Ministries that will introduce young people to Christ, disciple them in spiritual growth, and train them in serving Christ with their life. The Director will work with and report directly to the Lead Pastor.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct and present oneself in a Christ-like manner as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Develop, direct and coordinate all aspects of Children and Youth ministries (infants through 12th grade).
- Collaborate with Lead Pastor and Assistant Director to select curriculum for Children and Youth ministries and ensure that young people receive age-appropriate biblical knowledge.
- Collaborate with Assistant Director of Children's Ministry to coordinate Children and Youth ministry events.
- Work with clergy, staff, parents, volunteers, children and students to discover and implement ways to help foster spiritual growth.
- Recruit, train, oversee scheduling and assist adult volunteers in working with children and youth. This includes nursery and Sunday School teachers.
- Oversee Assistant Director of Children's Ministry, parents, and volunteers for Children and Youth Ministry functions.
- Collaborate regularly and intentionally with other ministries (i.e. Preschool, Missions Team, etc.) to promote and engage students in the life of the church.
- Plan and execute communication strategies for Children and Youth ministry programs and events via flyers, emails, letters, bulletin boards, social media, etc.
- Provide regular communication regarding the various children and youth ministries events/activities to families and church, utilizing appropriate church communication avenues, social media, and the church website.
- Promote and coordinate camping ministry for Elementary, Middle School, and High School students.
- Plan, collaborate with others, and implement special events and activities for children and youth such as Easter Fest, VBS, and Trunk or Treat.
- Maintain up-to-date records, including background checks, where applicable, for students and adult volunteer workers.
- Develop, oversee and maintain the annual Children and Youth Ministry Budget; report any budget issues to the Bookkeeper/Office Manager.
- Plan and manage purchases and logistics with vendors for children and youth ministry functions and events.
- Create and maintain a weekly, monthly and yearly calendar of Ministry activities which is provided to lead Pastor and others as appropriate.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Other duties/tasks as assigned by the Lead Pastor.

- Previous experience working in either children’s or youth ministries is required; a college degree is preferred.
- Able to effectively communicate with staff, congregation, and community.
- Understand social media and the use of Facebook, X(Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and the church’s website along with special video presentations.
- Be an energetic self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible availability to accommodate the schedule of church activities which currently includes Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.
