Our residential facilities purpose is to provide a safe and supportive environment for children, youth, and families who are facing mental illness, abuse, and neglect.
Job Summary
The Residential Treatment Specialist is responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and youth between the ages of 12-18. This position will provide one-on-one as well as group support for all guests in addition to a daily schedule of activities.
Schedule
There are currently three shifts available:
- 7 am – 3:30 pm
- 3 pm – 11:30 pm
- 11 pm – 7 am
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome children entering the facility upon entry and admission
- Provide care, support, attention, and a positive, therapeutic atmosphere to all children in the department to which assigned
- Support 2-3 children
- Maintain consistent, firm, and fair relationships with children
- Assists with managing the physical needs of the children including health, hygiene, and physical comfort (food/clothing/shelter)
- Assists maintains an active interest in and an awareness of the whereabouts and activities of each assigned child while on duty
- Assists with maintaining an approach/program that follows the individual care plan
- Serves as an integral member of the treatment team
- Provides formal and informal reports on behavior, attitude, and general disposition of assigned children, including: Incident Reports, restraint remediation sheets, time-out reports; Department lobs, Behavior Rating Scales; Primary sheets
- Participates in the planning, supervision, and provision of therapeutic and recreational activities
- Transports children as necessary including, but not limited to medical appointments, activities, school
- Understand that the agency reserves the right to mandate overtime as needed to ensure the safety, supervision, and care of the residents in treatment.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and (3) years of childcare experience working with children or youth in a residential environment (RTS l); or
- Bachelor Degree and (2) years of childcare experience working with children or youth in a residential environment (RTS l)
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Trained in de-escalation (specifically TCI - Therapist Crisis Intervention) preferred
Salary
Ranges from $19-$26 per hour.
Rates are dependent on experience and education.

$200-$300 sign on bonus after 90 days of employment
$150-$250 referral bonus if a referral completes 90 days of employment
