Job Description
Assistant Group Supervisor/Teacher
Position Reports to: Program Director/Executive Director
Qualifications: CDA; Associate’s degree and/or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education and experience working with children in Childcare.
Responsibilities:
1. Be an Assistant to the lead teacher in helping her with tasks assigned to you.
2. Observe children so they can be screened within 45 days using ASQ-3 tool.
3. Assess children using the Teaching Strategies Gold as an assessment tool on an ongoing basis if assigned to you by lead teacher.
4. Help provide activities to help meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
5. Interact with the children on a daily basis and play with them at their level.
6. Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media – [Not videos] etc.) to teach children.
7. Help the lead teacher provide individualized plans for children, depending on their developmental needs.
8. Follow all CACFP regulations
9. Maintain child staff ratios and supervise children at all times.
10. Maintain daily open communication, verbal and written, with parents.
11. Write accident/injury/behavior reports on Procare.
12. Report any suspect abuse to Childline and supervisor. We are mandated reporters.
13. Meet all applicable licensing regulations.
14. Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy.
15. Inspect and make sure damaged or lost materials are replaced by reporting to the office in writing.
16. Maintain confidentiality.
17. Work as a team and maintain a respectful work environment.
18. Attend trainings and staff meetings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
