Duration: 6/2/25 – 7/25/25
Position Summary
The New Home Co. Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in the dynamic field of New Home Sales and Land Development. The Land Intern will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of land acquisition and apply those skills to specific tasks and projects.
During this internship, the Land Development Intern will support the acquisition team in obtaining due diligence materials and participate in the various stages between entitlement and model opening. This role provides valuable exposure to both the land acquisition and construction aspects of the business, allowing the intern to gain insight into how land acquisition integrates within the homebuilding industry.

Position Job Title: Land Development Intern

Job Duties
- General & Administrative Duties:
- Update and publish a current summary of various impact fees.
- Develop and publish a comprehensive building permit fee schedule for all active submarkets.
- Build and maintain complete library of all approved investment committee presentation
- Coordinate and schedule environmental, geotechnical, and endangered species studies to assist with projects under LOI.
- Support the Acquisition team in obtaining ALTA Surveys and due diligence materials.
- Gain access to industry software and tools.
- Shadowing/Meeting Attendance:
- Receive hands-on training from experienced professionals in the field.
- Shadow team members throughout land, purchasing, sales, and construction departments.
- Attend various land development meetings to ensure all critical milestones are met.
- Special Projects:
- The Final Internship Project is a culminating experience for the intern to showcase the skills, knowledge, and insights they have gained throughout their internship. This project will be presented to supervisors and team members, serving as both a reflection of the intern's journey and a valuable overview of their contributions to the organization.
- Gain valuable experience in the residential construction and real estate industries.
- Attend workshops designed to build professional development and career readiness.
- Participate in executive meetings to learn from senior leadership and gain insight into high-level business strategy.
- Network with professionals in the homebuilding and real estate sectors.
Education
- Currently enrolled in a collegiate program
- Detail-oriented, organized and follows tasks through to completion.
- Able to manage time wisely and work within deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible, able to anticipate, prioritize and multi-task.
- Must be computer literate, with intermediate experience in Windows, Word, and Excel
- Capable of working independently and as part of a small team.
