What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Grade Teacher position at New Hope Christian Academy?
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a love for God and His children.
- Lead students in daily discipleship through prayer, singing, scripture memory, service, and teaching Biblical truths.
- Integrate a Biblical worldview into all aspects of the day.
- Create a classroom culture that is warm and friendly, full of joy, curiosity, and care.
- Maintain a standard of classroom behavior through clear expectations and procedures to ensure the safety and preservation of the learning environment.
- Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the classroom.
- Administer regular assessments and analyze data to inform teaching and development of individual goals for students.
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
- Knowledgeable of social and emotional development in elementary children.
- Create an educational environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the needs of all students.
- Prepare instructional materials and lesson plans to meet the individual needs of students.
- Using research-based strategies with school-approved curricula instructs students to improve academic, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law and regulations.
- Engage regularly in proactive and timely communication with parents/guardians through weekly newsletters, class and individual updates in the Class Dojo, parent-teacher conferences, and other parent meetings as needed.
- Actively engage as a school community member by attending events, staff meetings, discipleship, and other opportunities.
- Collaborate meaningfully and respectfully with grade level team and co-curricular colleagues to ensure whole child development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed by the principal.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Teacher Licensure is preferred.
- Professing Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is committed to Christ-centered education.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.
- Have a track record of holding high expectations for every student and faithfully working to foster student development and achievement.
- Possess strong content and pedagogical knowledge of all elementary subject areas.
