What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Media Ministry position at New Hope Church?
The Director of Media Ministry serves New Hope Church by leading, coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the Media Ministry by utilizing technology and volunteers to efficiently and effectively develop video, audio and web media that creates an exciting, engaging experience.
Responsibilities:
· Create and implement a vision to grow and enhance the digital and technical capabilities to promote the ministries and vision of NHC
· Recruit, develop and lead a team of volunteers to support NHC Worship services and events
· Oversee stage preparation for each service to create a positive environment and to eliminate as much distraction as possible so people can hear and respond to the Lord
o Perform sound and video checks to ensure all equipment is working properly
o Prepare stage with microphones and needed equipment
· Work closely with Pastors and Director of Music to provide service video and recordings for website and YouTube
· Manage and promote growth of social media - Instagram, YouTube, Facebook with live streaming, social media posts like reels & stories to all platforms
· Maintain all media related equipment.
· Attend Sunday worship services and ensure appropriate volunteer coverage at church events as needed. This includes additional attendance and coverage during peak seasons (Easter, Advent/Christmas, Summer Vacation Bible School, etc.)
· Attend worship rehearsals (Typically Thursday evenings)
· Attend a weekly staff meeting with the Director of Music, Pastors and other involved staff to prepare for the following week
Qualifications:
· The successful candidate will be grounded in Christian faith and support the ministries of New Hope
· A degree in video production, graphic design, or related field is preferred. Applicants with commensurate experience that demonstrates necessary experience will be considered
· Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience or ability to learn quickly the use of equipment including, but not limited to:
o FOH - Yamaha TF5 on a fault-tolerant DANTE backbone - Microphones - Sennheiser, Shure, Neumann - Choir, and Rode Shotgun for audience pickup, ProPresenter 17.1
o Livestream Studio (separate room) - DANTE dedicated livestream audio mix with Yamaha QL5, Waves server on DANTE fault tolerant network, vMix Streaming with Elgato Streamdeck, PTZOptic 4K cameras
o IT & Network administration with Ubiquiti network, PC & MAC shop
· Excellent Leadership Skills, including strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to be flexible in an environment that is subject to spur of the moment change
· Ability to troubleshoot problems in all technical areas during programs, including video, audio or lighting issues
· Ability to recruit, inspire, train and motivate teams of volunteers
· Ability to walk, sit, reach, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl, lift and move up to 20 pounds
· Other duties as assigned to support the technical and production needs of NHC
