Job Summary
Our long-term care facility in Cedar Park is seeking to fill a full-time LVN / LPN (Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse). This key nursing position is essential in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care alongside of nursing colleagues such as professional nurses, CNA and CMA. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, of Licensed Practical Nurse, in charge, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining the high standards of patient care and nursing excellence within our healthcare facility. This position calls for an individual with clinical expertise and previous experience in long-term facility is preferred, and a commitment to nursing ethics. As the LVN / LPN, you will provide medical and nursing care to patients as you monitor their conditions, aiming to make them as comfortable as possible and aide in meeting their needs. You will work with physicians, and other nurse leaders to develop patient care plans. The LVN / LPN will report the Director of Nursing and / or the Associate Director of Nursing.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Provide medical and nursing care to residents according to physician orders, regulations, nursing assessment and nursing judgment.
- Will promote resident / family education
- Provide assistance with therapies
- Update the plan of care as needed through collected data from observations and assessments
- Will collaborate with all interdisciplinary groups to provide patient care and report status updates
- Collaborate to meet the needs of resident(s) in your care
- Complete required patient charting and nurse progress notes entries including changes in condition
- Accurately administer medication and modalities for patients and their comfort
- Assist and oversee the care for ailing patients with activities of daily living, such as eating, bathing etc.
- Supervising and managing CNA’s and CMA’s during shift.
- Collect and send medical samples to labs. Order and track diagnostic results, such as x-rays
