What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anticipated Vacancy- K-5 Science Teacher position at New Hope-Solebury School District?
The New Hope-Solebury School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated K-5 Science Teacher to join our team for the 25/26 School Year! The K-5 Science Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering a dynamic science curriculum aligned with PA STEELS standards. This role emphasizes inquiry-based learning and hands-on experiences that engage students and inspire a love of science and engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and revises K -5 Science curriculum aligned with the PA STEELS standards
- Deliver Science instruction through inquiry and hands-on learning methods aligned with the PA STEELS standards
- Coach and collaborate with classroom teachers to tie cross curricular Science activities into classroom instruction following the PA Core standards
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and student learning.
- Uses a rich array of instructional methods, the analysis and use of data and technology to improve instruction, and the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively.
- Develop and write the K-5 Science curriculum in coordination with Science and STEAM teachers across the district
- Organize, develop, and coordinate special Science events/activities at the elementary level.
- Collaborate with the K-12 Curriculum and Technology Specialist and K-12 Science Coordinator to respond to teacher inquiries about research-based instructional practices and/or curricular issues.
- Works directly with school administrators and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Science initiatives and curriculum.
- Attends professional development and training related to Science and STEAM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research.
- Other duties as assigned/requested
Qualifications include:
- K-6 or combination of PreK-4 and 4-6 Pennsylvania teaching certification (required)
- Classroom experience at the elementary level (preferred)
- Classroom or professional experience in the area of science (preferred)
