Residential Counselor – Position Overview
As a Residential Counselor, you’ll provide supervision, support, and therapeutic guidance to youth in a group home setting. You'll play a key role in maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment while helping youth meet their treatment goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of residents at all times
- Support youth during treatment activities and daily routines
- Manage behaviors using trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques
- Maintain detailed documentation of resident behavior and interventions
- Participate in treatment planning and team meetings
- Support residents with hygiene, homework, chores, and daily goals
- Assist with transportation, meal prep, and medication administration as needed
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age
- High School diploma required
- Background check and drug screen required
- Experience working with children is a plus but not required
