  • You possess exceptional judgement, strong strategic and critical thinking skills, and you like to solve problems collaboratively.
  • You are an action oriented, outcomes-driven leader.

What you’ll spend your time doing:

Underwriting:

  • Underwrite commercial credit actions by reviewing financial statements, analyzing borrower risk ratings, and recommending appropriate loan structuring.
  • Collaborate with loan officers and other team members to gather additional information and clarify borrower details.
  • Ensure all parties are kept informed of underwriting progress and outcomes.
  • Communicate decisions and recommendations clearly and effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to teammates on underwriting procedures and information needs.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support underwriting decisions.

Analysis:

  • Source, compile, and interpret financial data to support the structuring and approval of loans.
  • Review industry information, key risks, mitigants, and collateral to form a comprehensive business overview of the borrower.
  • Utilize analysis results to underwrite commercial loans effectively.
  • Prepare credit analysis documentation and servicing information.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with new and existing commercial credit requests and relationships through thorough review and analysis.
  • Collaborate with Bank associates and partners to address risk issues, communicate review schedules, and manage changes in the commercial portfolio.
  • Assist in coordinating review and renewal schedules for existing credits, supporting ongoing risk identification and management.
  • Ensure all underwriting decisions align with the bank's credit policies and procedures.

Business Support:

  • Identify cross-sales opportunities for new and existing relationships based on analytical activities.
  • Partner with associates and clients to determine needs and structure new requests, renewals, and modifications.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, market trends, and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of underwriting principles, credit analysis, and risk management.
  • Minimum of 7 years of underwriting experience, with a focus on commercial loans, minimum 10 years preferred.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior management and regulatory authorities.
