What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Aide for Alzheimer's / Dementia Program position at New Horizon Counseling Center?
Thriving Alzheimer’s/Dementia day program serving South Nassau County is seeking a kind and compassionate program assistant to provide direct care support to program participants and their families and to assist with operations, office and clerical responsibilities. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting members with activities and personal care during program hours.
- Assisting direct-care staff when needed with program participants including group activities including meal distribution; travel with program staff to accompany participant on trips and providing program information to families.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s/dementia is required.
- HHA experience
- Must be proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint.
Assets:
- Experience as a caregiver of loved ones or individuals with Alzheimer’s /dementia.
- Senior Companion training
- Fluency in Spanish
