New Horizon School, Irvine is an independent, non-profit school seeking to hire a full-time classroom instructor for the school year. Instructors must enjoy working in a culturally diverse environment and be able to support the high expectations that exist in private education.Candidates must have a California or out-of-state teaching credential and a minimum of 2 years classroom experience beyond student teaching. The Upper campus serves students in grades 3-8th. 

 

Middle School Science instructors at minimum must have a Bachelor's Degree and Single Subject Teaching Credential. The Job Desciption includes but is not limited to: 

 

• Teaching science subject in accordance with the latest Next Gen Science Standards and align with school procedures and expectations.
• Developing interesting and interactive classroom learning environment for students.
• Using innovative instructional methodologies/materials to conduct classes in proactive, stimulating and effective manner.
• Performing periodic assessment to evaluate and improve each student’s academic skills and social growth.
• Implementing coherent curriculum plan to ensure student academic development.
• Developing lesson plans and materials to ensure student’s academic success.
• Maintaining neat and clean classroom environment.
• Coordinating with other teachers to continuously improve curriculum plan for student.
• Maintaining accurate and complete student records such as progress reports, attendance reports, parent contacts, etc. as defined by district policy and school administration.
• Participating in curriculum development programs, staff development programs, faculty meetings and other school committee activities as required.
• Assisting in organizing and maintaining school supplies and facilities.
• Assisting in general supervision of students inside and outside the classroom.
• Developing student behavioral standards to maintain safe and disciplined environment within classrooms and entire school.
• Coordinating regular communication with parents regarding their children’s performance.

 

The perfect candidate would be energetic and talented individuals with experience teaching the intermediate years.  The upper school campus is technologically advanced and will be geared towards acquiring and fostering 21st Century skills, so preferred teacher candidates will have G Suite or Google for Education experience.
