Position Description: We seek one teacher for Lower School and one High School Humanities position. Desired qualities include having an encouraging personality and patient demeanor as well as the ability to be creative and flexible. Teaching will be in person at New Horizons Academy. Class sizes are smaller than traditional or public schools with reduced paperwork demands. Duty-free prep period and lunch period. Employment does not impact the ability to collect PERS.
Job Duties: Utilize a variety of teaching methods and procedures (such as differentiated instruction), develop lesson plans, evaluate student progress, and monitor achievement. Work with students on academic curriculum and advancement, social skills, and life skills. Effective and timely communication with administration and families is essential. Able to work one-on-one with students, in small groups, or teach in a whole-class setting. This small school's community atmosphere offers care to its teachers, students, and their families.
