Compensation & Benefits:
$70,000-$80,000 (based on experience)

Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Health and Safety Manager to join our food manufacturing facilities in Ohio and Indiana. This critical role will oversee the health and safety programs, ensuring that all safety regulations are met and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace. The Health and Safety Manager will work closely with facility management and staff to identify risks, provide training, and create policies that protect the health and safety of our employees, customers, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs that align with OSHA and state-specific regulations for food manufacturing.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and industry standards.
- Lead incident investigations and provide corrective actions to prevent future accidents or injuries.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for all levels of staff, emphasizing hazard awareness and safe work practices.
- Maintain safety records, incident logs, and reports, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Advise management on health and safety risks, provide solutions, and ensure the implementation of safety measures.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to manage workplace ergonomics, personal protective equipment (PPE), and worker compensation issues.
- Oversee emergency response planning, including fire safety, chemical spills, and injury protocols.
- Promote a culture of safety by encouraging employee participation in safety programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in health and safety management, with at least 3 years in a food manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations, including food manufacturing-specific requirements.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Experience with safety management software and reporting tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring a safe working environment.
