We are seeking a motivated and compassionate HR Generalist to join our dedicated team at New Horizons Center. Key responsibilities include:
· Employee Benefits Administration:
- Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend cost-effective benefit solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Conduct benefits orientations, assist with enrollment, and serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries.
- Works with benefit broker to ensure a high value benefits package is being offered.
· Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent aligned with the organization’s goals.
- Coordinate job postings, screen resumes, conduct interviews, and manage offer processes.
- Collaborate with managers to identify staffing needs and create robust onboarding programs.
· Employee Retention & Engagement:
- Design and execute retention strategies, including recognition programs, professional development opportunities, and work-life balance initiatives.
- Foster a positive organizational culture through regular employee engagement activities and feedback mechanisms.
- Address employee concerns and conflicts in a constructive and fair manner.
- Assists with maintaining a competitive compensation, by understanding the market, conducting surveys and market research, and developing and maintaining a salary structure as requested by leadership.
- Assists leadership with maintaining a performance management system which supports the values, mission, culture and goals of the organization and promotes open communication and professional development for employees.
· HR Compliance & Administration:
- Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Reviews and modifies policies as needed to maintain compliance.
- Partners and provides assistance to leadership with insight and feedback on disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance and talent management (employee reviews/evaluations), occupational health and safety, training and development for both employees and leaders.
- Provide guidance on interpretation of policies and procedures while serving as known expert in subject matter with a broad knowledge and understanding of HR functional areas.
- Maintain accurate employee records and support payroll processes.
- Generate HR reports and metrics to guide decision-making.
Qualifications
Experience:
- At least three years’ experience in a true Human Resource generalist related role with demonstrable knowledge of HR policies, labor laws and best practices, employee benefits, recruitment, and retention along with experience in maintaining HRIS systems.
- Previous multi-site experience working in the non-profit field highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field helpful.
- HR Certification (i.e., SHRM or PHR) is a plus.
- A valid Arizona Driver’s License, Registration and Insurance is required at all times.
- Be able to pass a criminal background and maintain valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance required.
- Understanding the unique challenges and dynamics of working in a non-profit.

Working Conditions:
The Human Resource Generalist will typically work 40 hours per week, primarily between the hours of 8am- 5:00pm. Flexibility to include and after hours and weekends may be required depending on organizational needs. . Local travel to company related facilities may be necessary
Hazards/Potential Hazards:
This position may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, ergonomic hazards: i.e., static postures, repetitive motion, trip hazards such as file drawers and electrical wires to video display terminals.
Typical Physical Demands:
Extending periods of sitting, with occasional standing, bending, stooping, reaching, frequent lifting, and manual dexterity sufficient to operate
standard office machines. Must have adequate range of hearing, vision, and mobility as necessary to perform the duties of the role
Salary : $46,509 - $65,728
