What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Mentor position at New Horizons Family Services, LLC?
New Horizons Family Services, LLC is an established, dynamic agency that contracts with local government agencies to serve our local communities in Oneida, Vilas, and Forest counties. We seek people from diverse backgrounds and are an equal opportunity employer.
Work with youth involved in mental health services, juvenile delinquency, or child protective services. Teach them social or coping skills, independent living skills, anger management, sexual boundaries or other goals identified by the youth and/or case worker. Mentors should meet consistently with youth, build rapport, and gain trust. We have offices in Rhinelander and Eagle River. Services take place in the community, at home, or in the office. Other similar positions available include parent mentors and respite workers.
Mentors should have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to schedule, organize, and track multiple clients and appointments independently.
An open and creative mind
Strong computer and report writing skills
Ability to telecommute
A valid driver's license with reliable transportation
Flexible scheduling, competitive wages, and mileage reimbursement. Initial training and ongoing education included.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
