Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Implement care plans developed by healthcare professionals while respecting resident rights.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the client's living space.
- Document client progress and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their personal goals.
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, or assisted living settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and medication administration is essential.
- Familiarity with systems related to group homes or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- A compassionate nature with a commitment to upholding resident rights and dignity.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist them in mobility as needed.
- Certification in first aid or CPR is advantageous.
