We are looking for an experienced and motivated landscape manager that is familiar with the landscape industry to join our landscaping team. The Landscape Manager, would be responsible for planning, supervising and leading the maintenance team in landscape preservation, restoration, construction, maintenance and management. The Landscape Manager would be responsible for overseeing the year-round daily operations of the landscape and maintenance department.

Position Purpose/Summary

Under limited direction of the Director of Landscape, supervises the work of crew and oversees each property.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design landscaping and grounds maintenance activities.
  • Work in the field, providing hands-on completion of work as a mentor and an example for the rest of the team.
  • Weekly inspection of landscapes to ensure the overall condition of the yards and commercial properties meet the standards and quality expectations of New Image
  • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and policies of New Image
  • Maintains equipment in good operating condition
  • Reports required maintenance as needed to Shop staff
  • Prepares required documentation
  • Requisition and inventory tools, supplies and equipment.
  • Schedule work and supervise work crews
  • Supervise, train and assign work for crew members.
  • Consult with clients to determine their landscaping needs and maintain positive relationships with customers.
  • Perform hands-on task such as planting, mowing, pruning and trimming.
  • Document and record all work performed.
  • Troubleshoot problem area of grounds maintenance.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and efficiency in the field.
  • Make recommendations on personnel matters.
  • Work closely with Director of Landscapes.
  • Assist in preparation of work schedules and job assignments.
  • Report unfinished work to office or supervisor.
  • Responsible for safety of crew and equipment.
  • Responsible for all equipment and preventive maintenance.
  • Any additional duties required by the Director of Landscapes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in landscape business preferred.
  • Understanding of proper pruning techniques.
  • Previous Driving Experience (preferred).
  • Valid SC driver’s license, insurable driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles.
  • High school graduate or GED, 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Must be customer service oriented.

  • Demonstrate natural and strong leadership, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and crew members.
  • Plant identification (turf, trees, shrubs, weeds)
  • Irrigation installation and repairs
  • Identify infestation of insects and fungus on plant material.
  • Read maps, blueprints, record and report data; work independently.
  • Ability to operate all landscape construction equipment safely to include skid steers, excavator, Tractors, etc.

Physical Requirement and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to cope with outdoor weather conditions
  • Will require heavy lifting.
  • Physical capabilities of exiting and re-entry of equipment when necessary.
