Who We Need
New-Indy Containerboard is seeking an experienced hands-on leader in the Data Governance, Architecture, and Analytics space, who also has good experience with DevOps, and custom-made solutions. The Data and DevOps Solutions Manager will be joining a small, growing group of people developing the structure and teams needed to support New-Indy’s growth. The right candidate will have worked hands on, or with, establishing data lakes, ETL/middleware tools and analytics/reporting technologies within an organization. This candidate would also bring expertise with DevOps and leadership into the custom-made software development space to assist New-Indy in managing and growing its portfolio of enterprise solutions used across all manufacturing sites across North America.
A successful candidate will have a well-rounded background in business analytics and DevOps solutions and platforms from the ground up. This person would have spent time working with business partners to assist with their end-to-end analytical needs, beginning with the application through a data lake and into a reporting warehouse. This individual would have spent time with users, vendors and business partners at both a low and high level in an organization, to understand how the data in applications work, and how it applies to various business functions. Combining the technical know-how of data analytics with the ability to deploy DevOps framework and processes across NICB’s enterprise landscape will allow the candidate to hit the ground running and enable NICB’s future growth plans.
What you will do:
New-Indy Data Governance & Architecture:
- Leverage your technical skills to assist in the data development workflows and analysis.
- Work with business partners to validate the data and troubleshoot areas of opportunity.
- Work with the Enterprise IT/OT Leadership Team on the long-term strategy in the Data domain with a focus on flattening the technology portfolio and maintaining maximum supportability.
- Oversee the collection and storage of data, including data quality, standardization and sharing.
- Manage data protection and information governance procedures.
- Drive innovation and enable data usability to support digital transformation in the organization.
DevOps and Custom-Made Software Development Management:
- Working with the Enterprise IT/OT Leadership Team, assume ownership of the custom-made software development portfolio in place.
- Work with the Enterprise IT/OT Leadership Team to develop and maintain and roadmap of the custom-made software development portfolio, including DevOps rollout.
- Ensure proper maintenance and support of the custom-made software development portfolio, including Security aspects.
- Work to continuously improve the applications to ensure they provide the best solution for business operations.
- Report operational issues to the Enterprise IT/OT Leadership Team and stakeholders
What you will need:
Formal Education & Certification
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, business administration, accounting or 5 years equivalent work experience in a technology field
- Experience within, or supporting, a manufacturing environment.
Core Knowledge & Experience
- Strong knowledge of data lake, enterprise data warehouse technologies
- Solid experience with middleware application stacks, specifically in the ETL/integration spaces
- Extensive end user data services support, security and operations.
- Some enterprise application experience, working with or within ERPs and Asset Management tools (MS Dynamics, IBM Maximo, Infor, etc.), would be a plus.
- Solid DevOps skills and proven experience in transforming custom-made software development portfolios to become sustainable, secure and business-growth enablers.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning.

Work Conditions:
- 40-hour on-site work week. Emergency call-in availability for 24-hour production environment.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components. Be able to lift 40 lbs. unassisted.
- Physically able to participate in sessions, presentations, and meetings.
- Some travel may be required - up to 25%.
