Ocean Housing Alliance, Inc. (OHA) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit located in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. We provide housing, support, and services for low-income adults who are underserved, unsheltered, and have special needs. We are dedicated to providing our residents with a safe, healthy, pleasant, and caring environment in a place that they can call home. We operate two facilities, The Joan Valentine House, a 48-bed residential healthcare facility, and Angie’s House for independent living.

Job Description/Summary
Directly responsible for the oversight of the Joan Valentine House and Ange’s House aligning with the mission of OHA.
Responsibilities
- Manages the residential facility in congruence with NJ Administrative Code Chapter 27A.
- Provides administration, guidance, and direction to the residential staff and interns to ensure timely delivery of effective and efficient services to the residents in a caring and supportive residential care facility.
- Ensures residents receive comprehensive care by appropriately licensed and credentialed staff.
- Ensures consumers are linked to appropriate care modalities and treatment.
- Coordinates the OHA board meeting: activity, fiscal and executive director reports, emails the full packet to all board members.
- Directly provides crisis intervention counseling and consultation as needed or ensures same is available through a qualified professional.
- Responsible for hiring of staff, orientation for new staff and yearly evaluations thereafter.
- Ensure that assigned staff complete all reports, charting, documentation, and related activities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensures that JVH meets required licensure requirements and budgetary obligations and ensures that all pertinent facilities receive and maintain any applicable licenses, certificates, or certifications, etc., are properly maintained, are reasonably comfortable and welcoming, and meet any applicable safety codes and requirements.
- Informs the board of directors of all emergent issues and needs.
- Liaisons with external organizations to promote referral sources, develop and maintain steady contact with resources for the residents and ensures coordination of consumer services and activities.
- Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health discipline -or- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health or human service discipline
- A minimum (5) years of experience working in a community-based behavioral health setting. Work experience must include some supervisory or administrative responsibility. Residential or group home experience a plus
- Advanced knowledge of crisis management, psychotropic medications, community resources, cultural diversity, clinical assessment, group and program development, operations, and evaluation
- Knowledge of standards of residential care and quality improvement processes
- Effective communication skills
- Written and verbal proficiency in English
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- Ability to problem solve in a complex, fast-paced environment utilizing excellent customer service skills
- Excellent Organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with commonly used Microsoft Office products, and e-mail and Internet usage. Ability to learn and use computer programs and applications required for the position up to and including budget management
Salary : $70,000
