POSITION : ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, TENURE- TRACK POSITION IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
LOCATION : DEPARTMENTS CHEMISTRY & BIOCHEMISTRY
JOB SUMMARY : The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a full-time tenure track appointment as an Assistant Professor commencing September 2025 to teach at New Jersey City University (NJCU) William J. Maxwell College of Arts & Sciences. This is a 10-month position carrying a minimum 24 credit-hours teaching load per academic year.
The Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in teaching and should have superior organizational skills. The candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching organic chemistry and related courses at the university level. The successful candidate will engage in a research program in organic chemistry and / or chemical biology that attracts the interests of students from diverse backgrounds and will demonstrate a commitment to mentoring undergraduate student research at the interface of organic chemistry and life sciences. The successful candidate will participate in student advisement, maintain 5 hours of on-campus office hours, and contribute to the functioning of the department through committee work and other service activities.
EDUCATION : Doctoral degree in chemistry with expertise in organic chemistry or chemical biology.
