POSITION : ASSOCIATE / FULL PROFESSOR
JOB SUMMARY : The Department of Computer Science invites applications for Department Chair with a tenure-possible line faculty appointment at either the Associate Professor or Professor level. The appointment at the Associate Professor or Full Professor will begin September 1, 2025 , with a three-year renewable, appointment. The department chair will carry a 12 credit-hours teaching load per academic year. Final determination of title and tenure readiness will be made at the time of hire.
RESPONSIBILITIES : We seek an enthusiastic and dynamic leader who will have key responsibilities in providing department leadership, championing student success, accelerating the growth of our programs, securing an ABET accredited computer science degree, managing the Department's fiscal resources, facilitating a positive departmental culture, and promoting inclusive excellence.
REQUIREMENTS : Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in teaching and should have superior organizational skills. The candidate must demonstrate the capacity to lead faculty with a focus on excellence in teaching and help the Computer Science faculty grow research profiles for themselves that are appropriate and sustainable within the institution. The successful candidate will maintain a record of scholarship including mentoring undergraduate student research (as appropriate), undergraduate student advisement, assistance in developing and advancing the curriculum, commitment to program assessment, and collaboration with related academic programs. Candidates that have a strong record of academic achievements and successful history in securing external funding are preferred.
EDUCATION : Candidates with a Ph.D. in Computer Science, with expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or cloud computing.
EXPERIENCE : Candidates must have experience teaching multiple courses in Computer Science and be capable of teaching a range of classes in the curriculum at all levels.
