What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, EEO/AA/Diversity & Title IX Coordinator position at New Jersey City University?
JOB SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Interim University Counsel on State Policy matters including the processing of State policy complaints and distribution; and investigates State Policy complaints; reports to Counsel and Deputy Attorney General’s Office on EEO / AA related litigation matters. Works closely with Human Resources in areas of overlapping jurisdiction and provides appropriate assistance; addresses questions raised by employees and University supervision; responsible for procedural EEO / AA and analyzes and provides diversity data to the administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Serves as liaison to the State of NJ’s Division of EEO / AA, NJ Higher Education Affirmative Action Officers group, provides quarterly discrimination reports to the Division of EEO / AA.
- Responsible for the development and administration of the University Title IX program and compliance; provides advice and guidance regarding procedures relating to Title IX; analyzes and addresses Title IX matters and makes recommendations where appropriate.
- Assist in promoting a culture of equity and inclusion; and support the University’s programs to diversify the faculty, staff, and student bodies.
- Responsible for timely and sound EEO investigations.
- Create Affirmation Action plans (State and Federal)
- Attend EEO related trainings
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY : Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply management principles and techniques; considerable knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations; considerable knowledge of employment practices related to civil rights, equal employment opportunity or affirmative action plans and programs; knowledge of needs and issues ofstudents or employees; knowledge of merit system selection process including recruitment, examination, classification and certification; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; investigatory skills; ability to develop and implement affirmative action plans; ability to compile, analyze and evaluate statistical data; supervisory ability. Ability to be a collaborator and a convener, to work with judiciousness and diplomacy; and the capacity to build bridges and consensus.
EDUCATION : Master’s degree required.
