What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Consultant (NJ4S) position at New Jersey Community Development Corporation?
The Prevention Consultant will be responsible for collaborating with school districts and community service providers to facilitate training, workshops, webinars, and assemblies related to prevention programs. They will also be responsible for assisting in the programmatic data collection, reporting, continuous quality improvement processes, and evaluation of services to the target population.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience working in a non-profit, social service environment in the development or implementation of community-based services, prevention programs, or any other human service programs.
- Experience in implementing evidence-based practice models and other materials related to training and coaching according to policies and procedures.
- Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience as indicated on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester hour credits being equal to one (1) year of experience.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license, safe driving record, and vehicle availability are required.
- Must pass NJ Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) screening, and a fingerprint-based background check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of prevention-related issues, including substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, and mental health promotion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with consultants, school districts, and community service providers to facilitate prevention-related training, workshops, webinars, assemblies, and other events.
- Assist in the programmatic data collection, reporting, continuous quality improvement processes, and evaluation of services to the target population.
- Implement evidence-based practice models and other materials related to training and coaching according to policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, school districts, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in the development and implementation of prevention programs and initiatives.
- Provide consultation, guidance, and technical assistance to community organizations and school districts on prevention-related issues.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
