SALARY: The salary range for this position is $57,644.00 to $93,495.46 for Schedule A, and $57,644.00 to $88,820.70 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The Finance Division in the Monmouth Vicinage is seeking a self-directed, organized, analytical accounting professional to work under the general direction of division management. We are looking for candidates with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong knowledge of internal controls, the ability to work with others to achieve goals and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
The selected candidate’s primary responsibilities will be in the areas of bank and system reconciliations and disbursement processing. The candidate will also assist purchase commodities. Responsibilities will include reconciling system receipting and disbursement activity reports to supporting documents, reviewing bank reconciliations, processing first level financial entries for various voucher payments and accounts payable functions. The candidate will also assist coordinate the receipt of confirmations, vouchers, invoices and other supporting documentation from other units within the vicinage. The candidate will also analyze data using Excel; establish and maintain record keeping systems; perform accounts payable functions in NJStart; enter payments in the New Jersey Comprehensive Financial System (NJCFS) and resolve billing discrepancies.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze requisitions, vouchers, bank statements or financial transactions
- Collect and/or maintain case statistics or financial data to generate status reports
- Compile statistical data on workload volume, backlog, unit expenditures, personnel actions, financial transactions, fixed assets, equipment
- Coordinate workflow between units
- Monitor, screen, and prepare disbursements
- Participate in team/work unit meetings
- Prepare and enter accounting entries
- Provide cross-training to co-workers
- Purchase commodities
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Prepare and enter accounting entries
- Tabulate accounting, financial, or statistical data
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education, but do possess the 21 accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, and/or finance credit hours, including 12 accounting credit hours, may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.

Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
