SALARY: The hourly rate for this position is $20.00.
This position is limited to a maximum of 35 hours per week, not to exceed 944 hours in a fiscal year.

Internships may be available for the following divisions: Trial Court Administration, Civil, Criminal, Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action (EEO/AA), Family, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Municipal, Ombudsman, Operations, and Probation.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please specify in your cover letter which division you are interested in, as well as any alternatives, and note the semester(s) you are available for an internship opportunity. Hours may be flexible but must be between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Duties may include but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Prepare filings for judge and staff review, including document retrieval
- Assist with answering phones and returning calls
- Research caseloads
- Calendar management
- Moderate virtual hearings
- Assist with client contact for newly assigned cases and reminders
- Assist with special projects
- Conduct research and analysis
- Collect and enter data
- Provide customer service
- Draft correspondences and memos
- Assist staff as directed
Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree.
Unofficial College or University transcript must be included in your application in order to be considered.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.

The Administrative Office of the Courts provides technical assistance, operational support, training, research and development, budget and personnel coordination, and development and operation of information systems for the Courts of New Jersey.
